About

Sarah Taguiam

Starting her journey in the Philippines with long detours in Saudi Arabia and Canada, Sarah is back from working in Cambodia and is in search of her next journalistic adventure in Europe.

With almost six years of multimedia and online experience, she has reported for some of the largest newsrooms in Canada and Southeast Asia. Sarah has written copy, made photos, shot videos, recorded audio and edited for international news wires, daily newspapers, community papers, magazines and news websites like Agence France-Presse, Toronto Star and Metro News among others.

She has great interest in public health, travel and technology and has also worked as a communicator in charge of digital operations for institutions like the University of Toronto.

Sarah just finished a year-long stint working as a reporter and sub-editor for The Phnom Penh Post, Cambodia's only international award-winning English-language daily newspaper, under a Princeton in Asia media fellowship.

There, she recently won a Society of Publishers in Asia Excellence in Breaking News award for her coverage of the massive HIV outbreak in Cambodia’s Battambang province.

When she is not being serious, she is testing how much she can “reasonably” fit in her 50 L backpack. That, and eating street food.
